Planetary Missions Program Office - Internal & External
Communications Materials
During my time as the PMPO Communications & Outreach Intern, I was given the responsibility of creating communications materials for internal and external use cases. The first project I created was an internal fact sheet for our staff about the most recently launched mission, Europa Clipper. The second piece of content I created was a “State of the Fleet” poster, which I presented at the NASA Exploration Science Forum, informing attendees about PMPO’s most recent missions and discussing the importance of clearly and strategically communicating NASA’s activities to the public.

The Career Fair is the largest Career Center event and is hosted in both the fall and spring semesters. In order to effectively promote and execute this event, several forms of design collateral are required. In my role, I created new logos, designed digital graphics, and printed materials like posters, banners, and programs. These materials deliver a clear and unified message that follows the University of Alabama Brand Standards.

Print Materials
For each Career Fair, I create a program that can be printed and viewed digitally. These programs are useful to students and employers.

During my time at the University of Alabama Center for Economic Development (UACED), I was able to increase my skills and knowledge of AP style and media writing on several projects, such as newsletters, webpage development, and brochure design.

Equitable Neighborhoods Initiative
I worked on UACED’s grant-funded program, now a non-profit, the Equitable Neighborhoods Initiative (ENI). With this project, I developed a newsletter and helped write the copy for several of the “Communities” website pages.
Unfortunately, this program has been discontinued. This means I no longer have access to the link to these examples of work.
Town of Pine Apple Brochure Design & Copy
One project I was particularly proud of was the work I did with the small town of Pine Apple, AL, to redesign and create a more effective brochure for their yearly “Hunter Appreciation Day Event.” This required me to create a brand new logo, condense and rewrite the informational copy, and make the layout more functional.
